Join The Fun!

ALL 55+ OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS ARE INVITED TO JOIN US!    ALTHOUGH CANOEING IS OUR MAIN FOCUS, MANY OF OUR MEMBERS LIKE TO ORGANIZE AND GET TOGETHER FOR OTHER ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS. THESE INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Hiking

Besides canoeing, many of our members are avid hikers. Members meet on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 am in the lobby at 404 and walk trails in the Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge area. Location of the walk will be decided each week, depending on the weather conditions. The outings are one to two hours long and end at a coffee shop for some conversation and good companionship.

Winter months do not stop the Old Salts from being active. Hikes continue throughout the winter, weather permitting with members meeting in the 404 lobby at 9:30 am. When the snow is plentiful, many members enjoy snow shoeing or cross country skiing.

New members are always welcome.  Come join the fun, fresh air and great fellowship!

 Canada 150!

This past year, the Old Salts Seniors Canoe Club was able to participate in an ambitious project organized by the Waterloo-Wellington Canoe Club to spell out "Canada150!" on Paradise Lake to help celebrate Canada's 150th birthday.  It was challenging, but fun and those who participated were very happy to be part of this wonderful celebration!
