RECAP OF AGM {In Case You Missed it}

The Minutes of Oct. 1th 2018 and the Financial Statement of our last fiscal year were presented and approved. You can find them here.

Elections were held. Slate of Officers were accepted and acclaimed.  There were no nominations from the floor.  The Board is as follows:

  YEAR END REVIEW – PRESIDENT (Eugene Marion)

  1. Congratulations were extended to the newly elected board as well as a big thank you to Dianne Wagner who stepped down after years of serving on the board as our Scheduling Chair.
  2.  Remembered former members of the board  who passed this year for their years of service: Kathy Wolfe, Paul Eckmier, Murray Pope.
  3. 2019 Canoe Trip Review
    • Trips were well attended with lots of positive reaction
    • Easy Breezy trips need trip organizers and towers to continue (there is a detailed section on the blog to assist trip organizers plan trips.  You can find it here.)  Please consider volunteering!!
  4. Annual Canoe Clean-up Day (see here for details) – Oct. 22nd (rain date – Oct 23ds)
  5. Walking group revival – volunteers have come forward to revive the Tuesday morning walks. If anyone is interested, either leave a comment below this post in “Leave a Reply“, or email info@oldsaltsclub.com

WEB SITE & BLOG UPDATE – WEB ADMIN (Carol Marion)

Check out this blog post for a complete synopsis on what was presented at the meeting! It answers the question of “Why should I log into the blog? The email told me what I want to know.”

There are still some photo slide shows from our canoe trips and events to be posted, so stay tuned.  Thanks to everyone who have sent photos in.

SOCIAL EVENTS – SOCIAL COMMITTEE CHAIR (Pam Krokoszynski)

  1. Reviewed years events, including mini-golf, Paradise Lake, bowling, etc. all of which were well attended and lots of fun!
  2. Reminder of upcoming events:

BONDI REPORT – Mark Zelinka/Chris Sheppard

  1. Fall Bondi 2019 – was cancelled due to lack of interest and no organizer
  2. Winter Bondi 2020 – Mark has volunteered to lead this trip, but needs help.
    • Anyone who is interested in attending this wonderful trip should either indicate below in the “Leave a Reply” section below this blog post, or email info@oldsaltsclub.com to let us know
    • Mark spoke about the 2019 Winter Bondi and showed some photos. Looks like a great time!
  3.  Fall Bondi 2020 – presentation by Chris Sheppard
    • Chris presented slide presentation of past trips and the resort facilities
    •  Volunteer trip organizers required!!!

OTHER CANOE TRIPS NOT ON THE SCHEDULE – Lynn Warmington

Lynn Warmington and fellow canoeists/campers, presented a slide show of their fall canoe/camping trip to Barron Canyon in Algonquin park.

  1. Re: Barron Canyon trip. Yes, I think trips like this should be part of our schedule like Bondi.
    I like canoeing close to home but its nice to get “up north” too. I know there is a lot more planning involved – I am willing to help out with that.
