Big Creek (3rd. Concession Rd, Access #3) to Long Point Provincial Park
(Intermediate Training Required)
Date: August 6, 2024
This trip may be replaced by the Conestogo to Kaufman Flats trip if the water levels remain high. If that happens, Big Creek will be done at a later date.
Time: Meet at the Shed at 8:00 am.

Trip Details:
Big Creek is a watercourse in Norfolk County, Ontario.
It is approximately 60 kms long (we are doing a section of it).
It empties into Lake Erie at Port Rowan, at Long Point.
Its watershed covers 730 square kilometres.
It is called the “Canadian Amazon” as it meanders through the heavily lush canopy of the Carolinian forests of Norfolk County to Long Point.
This is a longer trip that does require maneuvering skills and stamina. Approximately a 3 hour paddle
Shuttle: Yes
Carpooling:
Please make car pooling arrangements before we meet on Tuesday morning. If you carpool, please reimburse your driver ($5-10 would be appropriate for this trip). If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.
Remember to Bring:
Emergency Contact Card, lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, PFD, and proper foot wear- no flip flops or crocs

Skill Level: Basic
Type of Route: Loop
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Tomorrow,July 26
Since it is further away than most of our trips, we need to see if there is interest in going for 2 days—leaving Monday & returning Tuesday.
Trip Information: The Gentle Green River is a true hidden gem in Orillia and Lake Country! We could go on a canoe trip both days!
We could also go to Steven Leacock’s museum house & grounds, enjoy the beach and dine out at local restaurant.
RSVP: Let Anne (annewoolner@hotmail.com) know if you are interested as if there is not enough interest, we will schedule a different trip.
If there is interest, we will need to book some motel rooms in advance.

Trip Details:
This is a 2 hour paddle that starts in the heart of Guelph past many historic landmarks with wildlife along the way. We have our lunch in the park and there is the opportunity for ice cream at the Boathouse tearoom.
Please make car pooling arrangements before we meet on Wednesday morning. If you carpool, please reimburse your driver ($5-10 would be appropriate for this trip). If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.

Trip Details: Excellent views of the countryside. Some challenging turns.
4-4 1/2 hours duration.
Reminder: Bring emergency contact card, lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, PFD, and proper foot wear- no flip-flops or crocs!

DRIVE TIME: This is a 1 1/2 —2 hour drive, with a 3 1/2 hr. paddle
TRIP DETAILS: This club favourite on the picturesque Beaver River starts at Access 2, Sideroad 19, north of Kimberley
It is a longer trip, with moderate rapids and spectacular scenery, requiring stamina and endurance. We stop for lunch at a lovely bend in the river where some choose to cool off with a swim. And we end the day with a stop for ice-cream!
CAR POOLING: Please make carpooling arrangements before we meet Tuesday morning. If you carpool, reimburse the driver ($20 would be appropriate for this trip) If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.
NOTE: CONSTRUCTION IN ARTHUR MAY SLOW THE DRIVE!
