The Brenda Welch Memorial Mini Golf Tournament

TIME: 10.00 am at Market Sports (800 King St. N, Waterloo) 

Mini Golf Cost: $10.95 per round (18 holes)
Followed by lunch at Jack’s Family Restaurant (20 Benjamin Rd.)

*For those who want to do lunch only, we’ll meet you at Jack’s at noon.
There’ll be prizes, or as Brenda always said,“There will be chocolate!” 😊

TIME: Meet at the Shed @ 8:00 am

TRIP DETAILS: This is a favourite paddle with interesting adventures and challenges. At the end, we usually go for a swim at Port Elgin, followed by supper at the hotel. This is an all-day trip that requires stamina and good river reading skills.
Carpooling: Please make carpooling arrangements before we meet Tuesday morning. If you carpool, please reimburse your driver ($20 would be appropriate for this trip.) If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.
BRING: PFD, water, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, dry bag with extra clothing, proper footwear (closed toe) AND *Emergency Contact Card—tell your paddling partner where it is!

EASY BREEZY ROCKWOOD PADDLE & BBQ

 ALL are welcome, basic skills and above!
DATE: Tuesday, September 2nd

Time:
Paddlers meet at 2:45 pm at Rockwood Conservation Area in order to start paddling by 3:00 pm. For those attending the BBQ/Potluck only, arrive at 4:30 pm.
NOTE: Allow plenty of time for traffic!
TRIP:

This is the prettiest of trips, ideal for an easy, leisurely paddle on still water, through the rocky landscape with cliffs, caves, ruins, a waterfall and a beach.
MEET: Rockwood Conservation Area—Group Campsite # 304. (About 10 km the other side of Guelph)
Entry Fee: $7.25 Senior
Club Trip Fee: $8.00

BRING:

DRIVING DIRECTIONS From Kitchener to Rockwood Conservation Area

  1. Head towards Guelph on Victoria Street, which becomes highway 7.
  2. Continue along Highway 7 which becomes Hwy 6 / Woodlawn St. E. through Guelph.
  3. Turn right at Victoria St. North (Tim Hortons is on the left)
  4. Turn left at Speedvale Avenue E.
  5. Turn right at Jones Baseline.
  6. Turn left onto Highway 7 at the roundabout.
  7. Turn right onto Fall St. South and the Rockwood Conservation Area.
    Meet at Group Campsite #304.

Beaver River

DRIVE TIME: This is a 1 ½ —2 hour drive, with a 3½ hr. paddle
TRIP DETAILS: This club favourite, on the picturesque Beaver River, starts at Access 2, Sideroad 19, north of Kimberley.
It is a longer trip, with moderate rapids and spectacular scenery, requiring stamina and endurance. We stop for lunch at a lovely bend in the river where some choose to cool off with a swim—and we end the day with a stop for ice-cream!
CAR POOLING: Please make carpooling arrangements before we meet Tuesday morning. If you carpool, reimburse the driver ($20 would be appropriate for this trip)
*If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.

Trip Details: 
This is an easy, leisurely paddle on the Thames River & Trout Creek in St. Marys, Ontario. A great opportunity to see wildlife including a nesting bald eagle family. The distance by canoe is approximately 8 kilometres, a relatively short distance, and can be completed in a few hours of paddling. There is no car shuttle required.
Finish the day with a stop at the famous Hearn’s Ice Cream on Queen Street! 
This trip may be cancelled if the water flow is too low. 
Carpooling:
Should you choose to carpool, please make arrangements before we meet Tuesday morning. ($10 would be appropriate for this trip.) If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.
Bring:
PFD, lunch & snacks, water, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, rain gear (pants/jacket), dry bag with extra clothing, & proper footwear (closed toe).
