Car Pooling:
Please make car pooling arrangements before we meet on Wednesday morning. If you carpool, please reimburse your driver ($10 would be appropriate for this trip). If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.

Speed River- Royal City park, Guelph

Trip Details:
This is a 2 hour paddle that starts in the heart of Guelph past many historic landmarks with wildlife along the way. We have our lunch in the park and there is the opportunity for ice cream at the Boathouse tearoom.

Please make car pooling arrangements before we meet on Wednesday morning. If you carpool, please reimburse your driver ($5-10 would be appropriate for this trip). If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.

Stratford: Avon River

Trip Details:
This is a leisurely paddle on the lovely Avon River in Stratford, followed by a picnic lunch on the island. Enjoy the sights, particularly the swans, but don’t get too close!

Carpool:

ALL canoe trips will be posted on the blog and include:
1. Trip information – where we are going, time to meet, what to expect to see, experience required. 
2. Trip leader to rsvp to (NOT always Anne, please READ the post)
3. IF cancelled the morning of, the leader will send out emails to those signed up
4. ALL trips MUST be registered for. NO show up on day of and pay/drop ins 
5. PLEASE contact trip leader if you cannot make it the day of so the groups does not wait needlessly. 
6. These trips are planned for enjoyment and there is never a race to finish it fast or first. However, the trip sweepers may remind you to go the pace of the others.(as someone who always dilly-dallied, I appreciated their reminders!)
Do not make plans for the day of canoe trip, sometimes we arrive home later than planned. 

Looking forward to a fun, safe canoe season on the waters calling us.

This year, if you choose to take ANY kind of training, you will be required to fill out the training form and pay by cheque, cash, or e-transfer.
Cheque, cash, and e-transfer payments are available at Membership meeting. 

Volunteer Trip Towers AND Trip Leaders Required~ Please consider helping!

Anne would like members to bring their calendars so they can sign up to tow and/or lead canoe trips.
Once dates and trips are confirmed, the trip schedule will be sent out to members via blog post. You will have ample time to review dates, decide when you can volunteer, OR see Anne at membership meeting. 

**Our club cannot be successful if we do not have volunteers and continue to rely on the same few people to do many tasks. **

Trip Details:
2.5 hour paddle past marsh areas which are home to cranes, egrets and other wildlife.
A short walk to a local pub for lunch afterwards is a nice finish to the day for those interested.

Special Note:    Let’s make this a fun evening.
We encourage you to bring your own flashlight, headlight and glow in the dark bracelets/necklaces or other light mechanism to illuminate the night sky.    Feel free to decorate your canoe with lights.

Trip Details:
We will circumnavigate the reservoir and explore along the shoreline. Water flows through the dam and into the Thames River (southwest side)

Trip Details:
 Surprisingly this beautiful sanctuary of flora and fauna lies in the middle of Canada’s most densely populated Golden Horseshoe area. A leisurely paddle takes you through the heart of the Royal Botanical Garden’s surrounding lands but with civilization never far from view. There may be a parking fee of $3 per hour/car.
