August 5th Trip Details {Easy Breezy}

Thursday’s trip info is as follows:

Trip: Guelph Royal City Park (Speed River)
Date:  August 5th
Trip Organizer: Anne Woolner
Tower: TBD
Time:  Meet at the shed at 9:00 a.m. for 9:15 a.m. departure
Details: Easy Breezy – Open to all members.  This is an easy flat water paddle.  Great opportunity to reconnect with members you haven’t seen in a while, meet and welcome new members and just enjoy being outdoors and on the water! Good time to practice strokes as well.
Skill Level: Basic  training required
Shuttle: No
Trip Fee: $6

Reminders:

    1. Covid protocols will still be followed, so bring masks and your own hand sanitizer.
    2. Members must be fully vaccinated
    3. Members should have trip fee prepared in advance of the trip to minimize handling of money.
      • Exact fee only. There will be no change available.
      • Fee must be in a sealed envelope with the name of the participant and the amount of money inside clearly written on the outside for verification purposes.

Please contact   Anne Woolner at 519-743-2277 to preregister for this trip. Spots will be saved on a first come first serve basis.

Note: We will have the hard copies of the Club “Handbook & Club Rules” available to purchase at the shed. This is a beautiful, professionally printed manual for those of you who don’t have printers or would prefer a hard copy to have on hand. The cost of this book is $10 which will go the “Shed Relocation Project” fund. Everything you want to know about the Club is in this book!

(This trip is rescheduled from July 27th)

Meet at the shed for 8:30 a.m so we can leave by 8:45 a.m.

August 3rd Trip Details

The Tuesday, July 27th  (Kaufman’s Flats to Shirley Dr.) was cancelled due to inclement weather. Since this is a trip that many members enjoy, it has been rescheduled for August 3rd. Let’s cross our fingers for a day of sunshine!

Trip Schedule 
Please note that the Trip Schedule can now be saved, viewed and printed as a PDF!When it comes to trip day, please check your emails first thing in the morning if it looks like inclement weather is going to be a factor and a cancellation may be possible. We don’t want anyone to get to the shed and find no one there. When in doubt, call the Trip Organizer to confirm the trip is happening, particularly if you live outside the K-W area.

We are very happy to be able to open this season and so far, our trips have been well attended and enjoyed by all participants. The schedule is posted with trips scheduled up till the end of August. There will probably be a few tweaks for one reason or another, but we want to know what you think and would appreciate your thoughts. Use the comments section below this post:

    1. Are there any trips you would like to see added to the schedule?
    2. Are there any trips on the schedule that you would like to see replaced with another?
    3. Which trips would you like to see on the schedule for September?
    4. What is your favourite trip that you always participate in?

Don’t forget to contact Lynn Warmington at   lynnwarmington1@gmail.com or call 519-846-9243 to save your spot for Thursday’s trip. If you can’t come, but reserved a spot, don’t forget to let Lynn know as well.

Remember to check your email  first thing Thurs. morning in case of cancellation should there be inclement weather.

Please note that there is construction on Weber St. between Northfield and King St. and the traffic is one way.  To access Dutton Dr., you must come in from Northfield Dr. or Parkside Ave.
