Intermediate  training is a must for this trip/required.

Trip Details:
This is an exciting paddle with a few nice drops in water, a tricky strainer, rapids and maybe even a few trees across the water to make things more interesting. 

Please make car pooling arrangements before we meet on Tuesday morning.  
If you carpool, please reimburse your driver ($10 would be appropriate for this trip). If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers. 

Remember: Bring lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, PFD and proper foot wear- no flip flops

Trip: Beaver River 

Intermediate training

Time: Meet at the shed @ 8:00am
Drive Time:  This is a 1 1/2 to 2 hr drive, with a 3 to 3 1/2 hr paddle.

Trip Details:
This is a club favourite on a very picturesque river starting at Sideroad 19 access north of Kimberley. Stop and have our picnic lunch at Heathcote. Take out at Slabtown.  

The lower section contains a delightful series of rapids endiing at a dam at Slabtown.   This is longer trip that requires stamina and endurance, with moderate rapids and spectacular scenery as we meander north viewing high cliffs and observing flora and fauna.

We stop for lunch at a lovely bend in the river where some can cool off with a swim. This is an all day paddle that usually ends up with an ice cream cone!
This trip does require stamina as it is longer and has a few challenges along the way.
Intermediate training is a MUST for this trip.

Basic training required.

Trip Details:
This is a 2.5 hour paddle past marsh areas which are home to cranes, egrets and ither wild life. A short walk to a local pub for lunch afterwards is a nice finish to the day for those interested.

This is a change from our schedule due to good water levels on the Conestogo. If this changes, we will do Grand River- Bean Park, Paris to Brant Conservation Area.

Intermediate training is required for this trip.

Trip Details:
 This is a great paddle when the water levels are up, with excellent views of the countryside. You will go highway 85 and Northfield Drive and connect with the Grand near Conestoga, ending up at Kaufman’s Flats.

The canoe trip will take 2 1/2- 3 hours.

Please make car pooling arrangements before we meet on Tuesday morning.

Trip: Green River – Township of Ramara & Severn
Waterway: Green River and Black River
Intermediate training is a must for this trip.

rom Wing 404 shed to launch point is 2+ hours (Hwy 400 – Hwy 11)

Distance: 7-15 km
Time on water:
3 hours 

Trip Details: The Green River is a true hidden gem in Ontario’s Lake County (Washago). The route takes us through cottage country. We will pass marsh areas with beaver lodges, beautiful birds and see fish swim through the crystal-clear waters.
We will visit the Washago Grist Mill (built in 1873) and a number of small waterfalls and rapids along the way. 
Difficulty: Easy with some light current ~ Intermediate training is required
Type of Route: Loop ~ NO car shuttle required

Bring a swimsuit and towel to take advantage of the many swimming opportunities along the way or a stop at Washago Centennial Park at the end of the paddle for lunch and swim.

This is a 2 hour trip that starts in the heart of Guelph past many historic landmarks with wildlife along the way. There’s a chance to enjoy ice cream after at the Boathouse Tearoom.

Please make car pooling arrangements before we meet on Thursday morning.  If you carpool, please reimburse your driver ($5-10 would be appropriate for this trip). If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers.

Trip: Grand River- Petrocan to Birley Gates
Intermediate  training required.

Trip Details:
This is a favourite for many of us. It will take 4-4 ½ hours so stamina is required. There are lots of interesting and exciting challenges along this river stretch to practice river reading and canoe maneuvering techniques.

Trip: Grand River- Westmont Rose-Kaufman’s Flats  
Basic training required.

Time: Meet at the shed @ 9:00am

Trip Details: Such a lovely section of the Grand. This is a longer trip (3 1/2-4 hours) so stamina is required along with basic skills for negotiating some shallow rapids. You will go under a covered bridge and past 2 gold golf courses.
