Below is the canoe schedule folks can save or print, OR view when required.
Trips start May 9th and end with canoe cleaning on September 26th.

ANY questions about schedule, or you want to volunteer to lead a trip or tow on a certain date, please email the trip Co-ordinator, Anne Woolner annewoolner@hotmail.com  

ALL canoe trips will be posted on the blog and include:
1. Trip information – where we are going, time to meet, what to expect to see, experience required. 
2. Trip leader to rsvp to (NOT always Anne, please READ the post)
3. IF cancelled the morning of, the leader will send out emails to those signed up
4. ALL trips MUST be registered for. NO show up on day of and pay/drop ins 
5. PLEASE contact trip leader if you cannot make it the day of so the groups does not wait needlessly. 
6. These trips are planned for enjoyment and there is never a race to finish it fast or first. However, the trip sweepers may remind you to go the pace of the others.(as someone who always dilly-dallied, I appreciated their reminders!)
Do not make plans for the day of canoe trip, sometimes we arrive home later than planned. 

Looking forward to a fun, safe canoe season on the waters calling us. 

 

Training Meeting ~ Tuesday, March 26th

Have you ever wondered, what it takes to become a ‘Tower or a Trip Leader?” Or what is a tower or trip leader anyway!!
Come out and learn in this workshop. 
 
Date: Tuesday, March 26th 

Meeting Location:
The ‘Wing Shed
RCAFA – Wing 404
510 Dutton Drive
Waterloo.
It is on the right side of Dutton Drive, end of the road before the ION Building.
 
Time: 
Towers – 10:30am
Trip Leaders – 11:00am
(Dress warm as you will be outside or inside the unheated shed.)

Trip Leaders and Tow-ers Required

Thanks to Anne’s efficiency, we now have the trip schedule. 

See attached for the schedule, and perhaps volunteer to be a tow-er or lead a trip(s).

Schedule starts May 9th and ends at the Annual Regatta September 24th. 

Plan to join us this season.

Training Information & Volunteers Required

Training Forms for 2024:

This year, if you choose to take ANY kind of training, you will be required to fill out the training form and pay by cheque, cash, or e-transfer.
Cheque, cash, and e-transfer payments are available at Membership meeting. 

Volunteer Trip Towers AND Trip Leaders Required~ Please consider helping!

Anne would like members to bring their calendars so they can sign up to tow and/or lead canoe trips.
Once dates and trips are confirmed, the trip schedule will be sent out to members via blog post. You will have ample time to review dates, decide when you can volunteer, OR see Anne at membership meeting. 

**Our club cannot be successful if we do not have volunteers and continue to rely on the same few people to do many tasks. **

Tuesday, August 8th ….Tower Required

Date:   Tuesday, August 8th

Trip: Grand River. Bean Park, Paris to Brant Conservation Area
Intermediate  training is a must for this trip/required. 

Leader:  Brenda and Dianne
Tower:  ???
Without a tower, this trip will be cancelled.
Please reply to blog or brendajwelch@hotmail.com if you can be the tower for Tuesday paddle.

Cost:$8 (no envelopes necessary)
Time:  Meet at the shed @ 8:30am 

Trip Details:
This is a trip that we postponed so that we could do the Conestoga when the water levels were high. This is a lazy summer paddle with wide vistas and a chance to see Bald eagles and Blue Herons. There is a fee for the trailer to go into the park for our take out, which will be split among the paddlers.

Please make car pooling arrangements before we meet on Tuesday morning.  
If you carpool, please reimburse your driver ($20 would be appropriate for this trip). If you drive in a different car each way, please reimburse both drivers. 

Remember: Bring lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, PFD and proper foot wear- no flip flops 

Contact: Brenda Welch will be the person to register with. 
 I will let you know Monday if we are successful or not. 
You will receive a confirmation email  to confirm your spot. If you don’t receive a confirmation by Monday night, please contact  the trip leader  to make sure you are on the list. 
If you change your mind or are unable to make it for some reason, please let the Trip Leader know asap as this will affect number of canoes required, partners, etc 

Please check your email the morning of the trip in case of cancellation
