Thanks to Michael, we have some AMAZING Photos from our Big Creek Paddle yesterday.
Well, look what memory arrived for me today..
Do the oldies remember decorating the Wing 404 each year for Christmas. Below are two photo memories to share.
Hope they make you smile as they did for me.
‘The little things, they’re not little!
Cheers to all our OSSCC members who don’t stop being active once the canoe season stops. Tues. morning walks are a great way to continue enjoying the great outdoors, get some fresh air and take advantage of some the wonderful trails in this region.
Here are some photos that have been submitted to date (Thank you Judy and Theresa!):

Everyone is welcome to join us for these walks. Watch your emails on the weekend for the announcement of where the walk will be, directions, time and other particulars. If you have any questions, use the comments section below this post or contact the Walk Leader listed with the walk announcement. See you on the trail!!
Cleaning day 2019 marked the official end of the 2019 canoe season as we cleaned all the canoes from both trailers inside and out. This year was especially efficient as the trailer boxes were emptied, vacuumed and cleared of any lingering debris and dirt. Paddles were scrubbed and equipment repaired. Everything is fresh and clean…..ready for the 2020 season, beginning with our pool training!
Many thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help! A special thanks to Eugene who volunteered his house, tools and hot water!!!! We had a lovely day, in spite of the slight chill and ended the morning with a wonderful pot-luck luncheon and plenty of hot coffee/tea!
Below are some photos that were taken on the day. Thanks to Don Lawrence for submitting….
REMINDER: Mark you calendars for March 19th (Membership Drive). More information will be coming in the next couple of weeks!!
So these should be the last of the 2019 trip photos! Hope I didn’t miss any.
This part of the Grand River is on the top of our favourites list and is always well attended. This trip was no exception. There is something for everyone with slow water, moving water and lots of opportunity to practice skills learned in training. Looking at the photos is a reminder of what a great canoeing season we had in 2019 and all we have to look forward to this coming season! If there are any photos that you like and would like to have, just right click on the photo and save (for desk top).
Many thanks to all our Trip Organizer volunteers, Lead & Sweep canoe volunteers, and our Towers. Without you, these trips wouldn’t be possible.
We have a great trip schedule planned for this coming season that you will find here. (scroll to the bottom for the link) There’s still time, but do think about volunteering to be a Trip Organizer or Tower for this coming season!
Take care!!
All the photos I’ve posted for the 2019 season belong to separate trip albums. If you have any photos to add to any of the albums, please forward them to me at info@oldsaltsclub.com. It is never too late to add them. If you’ve already sent them to me, let me know. I will be working on the Tues. morning walks next. Stay tuned……..

Fun times one of our favourite parts of the Grand River! This was a lovely trip for those who attended with perfect water levels and a beautiful day to be on the river.
Here are some more photos to remind us of what was and what we have to look forward to this spring!
….Some more photos from our Rockwood trip to help the winter blues!
Many thanks to Theresa Markus for submitting these photos. Enjoy:)
This “Easy Breezy” paddle is a short, but lovely trip, and this year was no exception. We had a lovely day, great conditions on the river and enjoyed seeing members we haven’t seen in a while.
Thanks to Pina Tenti and Marilyn Fischer for organizing and Eugene Marion for towing.
